We’ll sometimes get a nice comment about our cache hide and then the other bookmarked caches’ comments come into our email inbox with exactly the same message (aka cookie-cutter comments). Wow, what a disappointment. It’s a let-down because the message looses its sincerity.

I take pride in creating well crafted and unusual geocache “experiences,” yet I shake my head when people leave “TFTC” as their log item after visiting my caches. I know, if these people really DID visit my cache(s), that they’d have something more to say about them because of their “uniqueness factor.”

I also have a pet peeve against people who grab trackables and never log them, steal coins, and who log found TBs but don’t bother to place these TBs in different caches. I guess this is because I view geocaching as a community sport, and I try to take into consideration the mindset of others who hide or release trackables into the “wild.” I know how much I appreciate a nicely written log, and so I try to do the same for others as often as I can. But some people who cache seem to be so much more self-centered. I feel many cachers ignore this community element of caching. My 2 cents!
